657-5 loose chambers are bulging cases *(S&W repaired)*

Great thread. I have the same gun, and notice a similar issue. I think it's time to get some calipers. Do you know if there is a spec or what the limits are?

    9mm M&P mags availability

I have a 9c, and those magazines are just impossible to find. So today I thought I'd try something, I ordered one of the 10 round FS magazines from Midway, and when it comes in, I'm going to see if I can put my 9c baseplate on it. Looking at the pics, it would appear that the 10 round...

    Shield vs Storm

City of Rochester PD dumped the PX4 Storm .45 after a little more than a year. They were prone to FTFs and Beretta couldn't fix it. Don't know if that's just a .45 issue though.

    M&P 45 - Is this normal?

Technically Everyone was right... Just got off the phone with customer service. They walked me through the process of troubleshooting. Lo and behold, if I pull the striker back, I hear it click when the striker block engages. Problem (or lack thereof) solved. I am curious why my friends...

    M&P 45 - Is this normal?

Compared this to a friends M&P 40, and it's definitely not right, just like Rob and others said. Also found an armorer's manual online, and it lists a function check that should be done "annually". Fails the check. I'm sure they'll make it right. I'll let you all know how I make out...

    M&P 45 - Is this normal?

Thanks all. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Having spent my whole career in mfg, I know it can happen. S&W's customer service reputation sounds pretty good,so I'm hoping for the best. At least I got a chance to shoot it, and got to own it before NYs pointless new law goes into effect.

    M&P 45 - Is this normal?

Proud owner of a new M&P 45 (new to the forum too). Cleaned it and took it to the range today, and had a great first experience with the gun. Ran flawlessly. However, when I cleaned it afterward, I noticed that I can push the striker forward, and it will stick there, with the firing pin...

    Winchester ammo problem, need input

New to the forum, and new-ish to revolver shooting. I've got a Model 657 that I'm determined to kill a deer with this year, and while practicing today, I had a Win Platinum tip split on me. Same as one of the posters above, it took some persuasion of the ejector rod to get the shell out. As a...
