    Factory Re-Bluing?

Proper buffing angles, proper grit size, watching your temps, and avoiding a concave flat - is more of a science to me... If you void consistency, than sure it's an art...

Dropping on an empty chamber M&P

Again I've never heard of it. Think about the difference with say a light spring no round vs. heavy spring and striping a round. Wouldn't the impact be roughly the same? With normal headspace the round wouldn’t really cushion the blow, but only provide a little bit of drag. With a 1911 the...

Dropping on an empty chamber M&P

Dry firing I seen firsthand the damage that can be done. But only cause by design the firing pin was never ment to strike the backside of the breach face, which doesn't occur when there’s a round in the pipe. Whether it's a snap cap or actual. However round or not, the slide is going to slap the...

Dropping on an empty chamber M&P

I've been in the gunsmithing world for a few years now, and I never heard anything that droping a slide on an empty chamber would cause any sorts of shock to the metal thats properly tempered... I havn't even heard that with 1911's? How many here shot one in the pipe with no mag in it? I know...

    Factory Re-Bluing?

Wasn't aware that Smith & Wesson Blues there own. I thought they sent them off to third parties... This is one of the sciences (Yes more science than art!) I plan on, when I get my gunsmithing deal going. I have all the goodies to blue via rust or caustic, it just takes space which I don't have...

does anyone make a 357sig bbl

Not that I'm aware of Fred... Third party barrel makers go where the money is. Glock, 1911, etc... Tooling up barrels is not cheap, and is a heavy investment, so I dought you could convince anyone to do them for a small number of folks. I could only imagine it takes hundreds if not more barrels...

Everybody wants a piece of the frenzy

James you read my mind! I was thinking the same thing. I could see them carring Bryco 380's as bugs I would rather take my chances with 45 Supers in a stock Glock 21 before I carried a Hi-Point!!! I have a Bryco 380 in my safe (Waiting for a local buy back, so I take the old lady out for a...

    Sigma ???

Unfortunately the Sigma has very limited niche with third party barrel makers, so good luck. Technically there’s no reason you couldn’t just drop a 357 Sig barrel in a 40 frame… In fact if you were to get your hands on 9mm barrel before if got chamber reamed, it would be a simple process to...

    22-A recall notice

Yea, Mine is a UBNXXXX. All good here. Yet another boof from team S&W!!! I think we need to organize a twenty man march and start flicking them in the back of the ear. That might get the QA on par? I'm sure Fedex or UPS isn't complaining!

    S&W made stainless PPKS

Thanks for giving me the heads up. I just requested a shipping label online for my PPK...XXXXBAF Anyone know more details on the issue, and how many on the board that were affected? Curious if they hook us up with a free mag or swag for the inconvenient? That's usually the norm on recalls...
