I have a 41 with SN 94XX long bbl. I recently ordered a short heavy bbl. from Midway. I had to do a little light stoning on the new bbl. to get it to fit. Very happy with the way it shoots.

Hope i'm not hijacking, but instead of starting another thread; I thought I might get an answer to my question here. I have a Mod.57 nickle 6in. no dash sn #6484XX. there are 4 digits and the letter and numbers A20 on the crane??? can someone tell me what those letters and numbers represent...

I recently purchased a short heavy bbl. for my 2nd yr. production 7/12 in. 41. I had the same problem as you describe. I had to do some stoning (minor) to get it to fit and cycle properly. Shoots great. Good luck with yours. Steve

I load several different loads for the 223 for several different guns, but my favorite out of my DPMS shorty is 26.5 grains of Reloader 15 behind a 55gr. Hornady V-Max. Winchester primers.

I load 8.0gr. of universal behind eitrher Meister or Oregon Trail 240 gr. LSWC. Mild recoil and very accurate. Shoot this out of two stainless Vaqueros and a Mod. 29-2.

I just purchased an older Mod. 57. Nickle PandR in 6 inch. I have loaded 44mag for many years,but never the .41. Can someone tell me of a good brand and source for a LSWC? I noticed that somebody mentioned a load up above using 8.5 grains of Unique I believe. Thanks in advance Steve

I can assure you that the 44mag is more than adequate for deer or antelope. That being said, make sure you know your limitations while hunting with it. Practice with the load that your are going to be hunting with and know the POI at the various distances that you may be shooting. I killed my...
