My K22 "LERK" K1787 has a small s on the barrel flat and a larger S on the left grip frame with no date stamp. My post war .38 special M&P S987XXX has the exact same markings in the same places. K38 "LERK" K4568 does not have an s in either place. I certainly enjoyed having a reason to look at...

Correct. The serial number of the gun is K1787 and the right stock is 656XXX.
