I had to bring these two guns together to show the beauty in the simplicity of the model 13 and model 58. There is no big ramp front sight, no adjustable rear sight, no ejector rod shield with standard trigger and hammer. In fact these two are as basic as they get except for the heavy barrel and PC magnas, and those two features are not much of a departure from standard. These two are the hard core service magnums of the Smith & Wesson line. All business. The internal mechanics are exactly the same as the model 19 and the model 57 but without any of the fine cosmetic and functional additions. These are perfect combat revolvers that I wish I had access to as an assault helicopter pilot in RVN. I wish I was a better photographer because these two are very close to perfect. The Models 13 and 58.
