    617 22 Revolver

I picked up a 4" 10 shot recently. It came from an individual on a website in my state. I paid $625 for it, but it came with a target hammer I sold on this site for $40, so I've got $585 in it. It was practically new, so really anywhere around $600 +/- I think is alright. Fantastic accuracy-...

S&W Performance Center-Master Revolver Package vs Combat Package: Which one?

Greetings! To your question: There are several reasons the trigger pull could be heavier- none of which we can really answer without handling them. Yes, it can effect accuracy. This effect can be overcome through practice and training. Neither- put a couple hundred rounds through the...

    4" 66 No Dash

****SOLD*****4" Model 66 No Dash, P&R, all Stainless Sights. which 629 model is best?

Monday-Wednesday, the -4 is the "best." Thursday- Sunday, the -5 is the "best." :D I can say that my 6" -5, full lug is one of the most accurate handguns I have ever shot. Locks up in such a way to make a Colt blush and has a great trigger. It is MIM, but that's given me zero problems so far...

Competition against the 617 at last…

Can't quite go with the OP on this one. Even if the sp101 was $250 lower than a 617, I wouldn't bite. In the long term scheme of things, $250 is a small price to pay to get what you really want. I've owned (note the tense) 3 sp101s. I own (note the tense) every Smith I've ever purchased. I am...

    M&P340 Locked-Up! Help Me!

Correct- or better said, I didn't hear the primer go off (I wear some pretty intense hearing protection). I thought it was a misfire. When I went to check it is when I found I couldn't open the cylinder. I agree with you, that is a good practice. But I have seen guys continue to fire after a...

    M&P340 Locked-Up! Help Me!

The round that jammed everything up was the round being fired; in-line with the barrel. The bullet was stuck in the barrel with just a hair left in the case. I wouldn't have noticed it after all was said and done except I saw that the primer had been struck.

    M&P340 Locked-Up! Help Me!

OK, a little update here. It bothered me greatly that the bullet "pulled" because I always put an ultra tight crimp on them. I checked out my reloading gear and all was fine. I then happened to look at the cases and rounds that came out of the jammed cylinder and that's when it hit me...

    M&P340 Locked-Up! Help Me!

Swooo! OK, I was wrong and you guys were right. I did have a bullet pull out BIG TIME. Long story short, I have spent the evening learning more about j-frames than I ever thought I would. At least now I know I can tear one down (as in, to the frame) and put it back together. I had to do...
