Very nice. I really like my Pre-M28 6", but would love to find a nice 4".

Filled a 29 no dash 4" hole today.

Wow...Nice. That's a beauty. My dirty little secret is that I love shooting autos, but nothing beats the look and feel of a classic S&W revolver. I have a couple but have yet to find MY Model 29. That one truely looks sweet. Congrats.

Thank you guys. I think some are stuck paying more due to the "off-list" issue. Leave it to California :(

    M36 Info

I am looking at a Chiefs Special M36 with serial # J19xxx. It looks like it's in really good 90% or so condition. It does not have it's box or papers. What would you consider a good price? Also, could anyone tell me the year of manufacture? Thank you guys. I have not seen it in person yet...

    Holsterless carry inside the belt?

Similar to the "Rafter-s" method, I've carried both a Jframe and Glock with nothing but a clipdraw. It was always in the back of my mind that somehow the trigger would get snagged, so I now carry those two appendix in a VERY minimal holster. Mr. Softie I believe it's called. I still like the...

    Glock 26 info wanted

I carry a G27 (same physical size as the 26) pretty regularly and love it. I can shoot it as well as a full size. I have quite a few rounds down range and have never had a problem with it. My ONLY complaint is that it is a bit thick and prints a little more IWB than a 1911. But for...

Thanks for the tips Gary. Unfortunately I live in the SF Bay Area. Gun Shops and Shows around here are nothing like in other parts of the country. Slim pickings to say the least.

I agree. Looking at the classifieds, it looks like decently priced grips go quick. I guess I'll just keep my eyes open.

Will you collect collet the Guns from the public?

It might be easier than any of US can fathom. Between the indoctrination of our youth, and the eroding of the middle class this might be a very different country 20 years from now. Oh...not to mention many modern immigrants refusal to become Americans. We may simply be displaced and/or...

If they're too nice, they won't match the gun anyhow. Mines nice, but definitely well "broken-in." Thanks for the tip, I'll keep my eye on the classifieds.

Thanks Gary, This was a deal that fell in my lap, I had no intention of buying one, but I couldn't pass up. I knew nothing about the HP line or the history, but liked the gun. Now that I've handled it a bit, I REALLY like it. The only other Smith I own is a little 642 snubbie I carry on a...

The ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.including N frame ser# ranges

This is a great thread...just found it the other day. My Highway Patrolman # S 128xxx #'s match, but it must have been a service revolver. Bluing worn out in a small spot on the tip of barrel, spot under the trigger-guard, and small spot just to left of hammer. also see lots of small "dings"...
