    4.25" or 5" For Competition?

The 5" barrel gets my vote. Best chance of making power. I have the 9mm Pro and the 40 Pro, both 5". I shoot Production and Limited minor. I really wanted the L model because I knew I was going to get toys for them. But could never find one so got the Pro. I actually came to the BB looking...

    RCBS vs Hornady

I have a Hornady progressive and think it is the best. Several years ago I bought an old RCBS Rock Chucker from a friend for $25. He wanted a Hornady single stage to match his progressive. I use it for rifle loading. I do not remember who made it but found a insert for the Rock Chucker that...

    AA #5 Questions

Thanks for the info. :) I'll make up an order after the first of the year. I order from Powder Valley in Kansas. Powder Valley, Inc. That is a link to their web page. Good place to get powder and primers.

    AA #5 Questions

I am looking to buy some AA #5. Can anyone who uses or has used it answer these questions: 1. How is felt recoil? 2, How is muzzle blast? 3. Will it work for short barrel 45 acp's? Has anyone used it in 45 Colt or 45 Schofield? Any opinions on use of AA#5 with lead? I have and use AA...

Sending in for service with Apex in there?

I had a dead trigger (failure to reset sear) with my M&P Pro 9mm. :( I could send it to the factory for repair/upgrade under warranty. It has the Apex Tactical competition kit. I paid $32.50 and shipped the sear housing to Apex Tactical for their upgrade. That rather than...

Fail to feed in M&P pro 40 S&W

They hang high. Twice I just pushed the slide home. I have a Glock 36 that hangs low. I am assuming it is because of overall length. Bullet is too long. Not the case with the 40 S&W M&P 40 S&W. :D I love saying that :D Yes I clean the mags.

Fail to feed in M&P pro 40 S&W

I am not sure but this maybe should be in the reloading forum. But since it involves specifically a M&P 40 I'll put it here first. :) I have loaded a Missouri Bullets 180 grain Lead TC into some mixed cases with 5.0 grains of Win 231. The chronograph tells me this makes major power, 176. Nice...

    Win 231 gets my vote for 9mm. 38, 45 acp, 40 S&W.

    Help With Lee Presses?

I agree, the Lee turret press is handy. I have one along with a Hornandy LNL progressive and RCBS rockchucker I bought used for $25. The Lee turret press is an older model but works. I use it for various tasks. I took out the auto indexing because you could not use it for rifle calibers. I...

Should I buy a M&P Pro or Standard FS?

This thread made me chuckle. :) I too wanted a 5 in gun. I hunted for a "L" anything. To this day I have not seen one available and very few listings. I knew I was going to add the Apex Tactical stuff. :D Had to buy a Pro 9mm with FO front sight. Changed that sight to an...

    Can you switch lowers?

:) Right. I remember I couldn't think of the term. I was in a hurry with the thread hoping to get an opinion before I went to the range. :D In fact I was thinking that I haven't shot my AR15 for over a year. Probably where I came up with receiver. :o

    Can you switch lowers?

:) Found the same thing to be true. Took it out for a test and it did wonderful. :D The 9mm is a better caliber for USPSA production because it is cheaper. I have loaded down the 40 S&W to 140 power factor with a 140 grain lead TC and it is a very easy loading to handle. But a...

    Can you switch lowers?

I have a M&P Pro 9mm and a Pro 40. Can I switch the lower receiver between the two? They fit. But could I have trouble?

Light Strikes on primer - Pro 9mm

 It happened again. A dead trigger. Not the same as light strike, but result the same. Both has happened with Apex tactical stuff in the gun. Apex Tactical is hard to contact. No one answers the phone and it takes weeks to get an email back.

M&P Pro .40 in USPSA Production

I got this reply back from Don Degray at S&W customer service: Ron, If it was up to us in Customer Service it would have been on the list. Marketing makes the list and we don’t have an input. So if it makes the list you will be ready for competition . Don
