Woops! I just posted a seperate thread in the 1961-1980 section about the exact same thing. My local gun shop has a new un-fired one of these in the box with the tools and wax paper. They are asking $1299.00 for it which seems kinda hopeful to me.
A local gun shop got this NIB Model 10 round butt snubby in the other day. It is overstamped with the logo and inscription of a police organization in Peru. Anybody know anything about these?
The LGS is asking a hefty price for it.
They were used in Railway Post Offices on trains for a long time. The issue weapon was a Colt Detective Special. You can google it and see pictures of the clerks wearing the holsters on duty as they sorted the mail on moving railway cars. Back before the miracle of charge cards,etc. people used...
