Price Check S&W Mod 10-7 Peruvian Investigations

I am new to this site. not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, if not please overlook my ignorance. I have been searching the net trying to a fair selling price for this gun, with very little luck. I recently accuired a S&W Model 10-7, 2" revolver w/ blued finish and wood grips. On the right side of the frame is "Policia De Investigaciones Del Peru" in a horseshoe shape around some kind of symbol. The individual that I bought this gun from claims to have purchased it directly from the S&W factory several years ago, and that it was a limited run. He said that he does not recall ever firing the gun and it appears to be in "new" condition. I also have the original box and paperwork. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the SCSW, 3rd ed., your model 10-7 was a special run for the Peru police done in 1984. Product code is 100101. SN range AEV 9xxxx.

In the condition you describe, and depending on the market/collector interest, you are in the 350-500 USD range.

Woops! I just posted a seperate thread in the 1961-1980 section about the exact same thing. My local gun shop has a new un-fired one of these in the box with the tools and wax paper. They are asking $1299.00 for it which seems kinda hopeful to me.

Sir, with all do respect, remember there is often a large difference between the asking price and the selling price.

If I remember correctly there is an Internet company Collectors Firearms that had an Peruvian M-10 listed for sale. You may want to check and see what they are asking for theirs.
