    Ray Liotta RIP

I read that he was born and raised in New Jersey and adopted. He always thought he was Italian but later tracked his biological parents to find he was of Scottish decent.

Agent Orange problems and VA Claims

As stated get a VSO (Veterans Service Officer) and they’ll have you sign a Power of Attorney to represent you with the VA. In essence they input the claim data directly into the VA system. Critical to the process is your doctor’s input and tests that were performed to provide a diagnosis. I...

    Captain Crozier!

I gather from today’s news conference Trump is going to have a review how this came to be. A Naval officer and Academy grad Crozier is no dummy. For him to takes steps he knew fully would end his career there is more we don’t know. IMO he and the rear admiral aboard didn’t agree on the matter...

    Even the Veterans Administration

There isn’t a SOP for this behavior I don’t believe. Each of the VA centers I’ve been to seem to run as dictated by the medical center’s director. If that individual is a left wing liberal, well you get the picture. The variance can be day and night between centers. I don’t condone the...

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

Yeah I’ve been ordering my big bore ammo for hunting thru the PX as well. I found it cheaper and as you said no shipping and no tax. Walmart doesn’t carry my caliber (460 Mag) and Cabelas rarely has in store so with shipping and tax it makes the PX attractive.

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

Great point. The MilStar card gives rewards points on each purchase. 2 points for every dollar charged on the card. When your total points hit 2000 points they send you a rewards card with a $20 value. My understanding is the reward cards can only be used at the PX but I read somewhere the...

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

You’re correct in the strategy behind the commissary. Their revenues have dropped over the past several years. The drop was enough to concern DoD and congress who appropriate the commissary funding. There is a new leader at the commissary a retired Rear Admiral who gets it and I think he is...

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

I don’t believe “dreadin” meant disabled veterans. I believe he earned his benefits having retired after 20 years. In the years he served the pay was terribly lacking and benefits to look forward to were chipped away over the years. Medical, PX, and Commissary were really the core. That’s...

Thanks for your input. I concur with your comments. Hopefully this helps those who will be using their new benefits beginning in 2020.

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

Like anything you buy you need to know what the going prices are. The sales tax in Texas is 8.25% but not all grocery items are taxed here. The PX prices are okay but not great; however, they will price match and with no shipping and no tax that changes it a bit. The Omega watch I purchased...

    Army-Navy....never mind 😂

Always a great game as these young men play their hearts out every year. Many years ago I had the privilege of meeting the late great Heisman winner from Army Doc Blanchard.

Veterans Get on base PX and Commissary Privileges

That’s exactly what I bought. I noted it on sale last Saturday and bought immediately. It sold out 2 hours later. They will put them back on sale again so you need to jump on it. BTW it comes in a great case.

All great points. Like you I got a military star card last May. Your 1st purchase using the star card you’ll get 10% off the purchase price. I used it on an omega watch which was on sale at 20% off the PX regular price and the additional 1st use 10% made for a great buy. We need to report...
