S&W 34-1 numbers on cylinder crane

Thanks guys: While I like the way the square butt fits my hand, I've always preferred the looks of the round butt J-frame snubbies: they look more compact.

S&W 34-1 numbers on cylinder crane

Howdy Folks: Just got this little sweetie and I noticed that the numbers on the inside of the cylinder crane don't match the serial number. The serial number M129XXX dates this revolver to 1979. The number stamped on the cylinder crane: 11781 is also found on the butt frame under the stocks. Am...

    My new Model 66-0

No more paint! Thanks for all the encouragement everyone.:) The paint is now history (a tip of the hat to Frank237), the rear sight cleaned up very easily, the front post took a little more effort, but it's a done deal now. I was also wondering if the early M66's came with a "bead blasted"...

    My new Model 66-0

Thanks canucksvt, I've been looking for some time now and I've seen a lot worse for more money.:D SaxonPig: No, mines just a plain old M66, I just find 66-0 easier then M66 (pre-dash). What can I say, I'm lazy and I wasn't aware that any were ever marked 66-0. Now I know.:) I'm also looking...

    My new Model 66-0

Thanks for the heads up Frank, it's a good thing I asked, I'm sure getting replacement parts would be an expensive learning experience. I'll give the break cleaner a try, I've also got some red paint on the front post I'd like to get rid of. As for the shiny sights, I've been looking for an...

    My new Model 66-0

Howdy folks: I just picked up this little sweetie and I thought I'd show her off a little bit, that and I have a question about the sights.:) If you're curious, I paid $450.00 and It came with the original box (no papers or tools), a S&W Holster, a set of pachmayer rubber combat grips and 3...

    Spam PM's ! ! !

No, no, that Maple Syrup is like an aphrodisiac for squirrels. You mix twigs, bark and maple syrup together and you'll have every squirrel for a hundred miles trying to hump your leg. Unless, of course you're into squirrels.

    Spam PM's ! ! !

Help meeeeeee...... I have to confess that "I clicked the link". It took me to some weird page about meditation and eating vegetarian. Strange thing though, ever since I've had this compulsion to sell all my guns, stare at my navel and eat granola. Does anyone know what dressing goes well with...

    Model 66-0 value?

That's an exceedingly nice Model 67 you have there Art. Just couldn't pass on a chance to torment the inmates a little more, could ya.:D One of these days I'll find a nice minty M67 up here, I hope. As for the plastic semi's, they can have them. I'll take the metal and wood wheel gun over a...

    Model 66-0 value?

Thanks for your input guys, I really appreciate it. They're asking $600 and it's just not in $600 condition (especially for a Prohib). That's a very nice Model 67 Engine49guy, how did you know that it's on the top of my wish list? It's not nice to tease people you know.:D Now if it looked like...

    A new old-style 4" Model 45 M&P would be nice

Yes, bring back the old classic Model 45 in a 4 inch barrel, but also put out a 5 inch barrel for those of us north of the 49th that can't be trusted with the 4 inch variety.

    Model 45 (Pictures added)

I agree with Anton 100%, it's not nice for you Model 45 owners to tease the rest of us like this.:D

    Model 66-0 value?

Howdy folks: I've come across a model 66 (pre-dash) 4" barrel, target stocks, stainless rear sights. Other then needing a good cleaning, the only blemish is the cylinder release rubbing against the frame ahead of the release button. The bore looks good etc. What do you think a reasonable price...

    Unbelievable find! Mismarked M-64!

Isn't that the Model 64 that J. Edgar Hoover traded to Gen. Mc Arthur for the General's Model 60 (mismarked as a Model 36)?
