Well, I suppose you could put it like that. The M&P looks fine as a polymer pistol. I just don’t know that it does as well as a classic S&W in a metal frame.

Here are some comparison photos: M&P Shield with standard and extended magazines vs my P365X (P365 with the XL grip module). As you will note the standard shield magazine makes it very close in size and the extended magazine clearly makes the shield larger. Slightly thinner in the grip, but larger.

When I compare my M&P Shield to my P365X (P365 with XL grip) I find that while being slightly slimmer though the grip, the Shield is similar in all other dimensions. This is 7+1 compared to 12+1. The standard P365 is obviously smaller. S&W could easily increase the grip area a bit, add a wider...

I’d be happy if they made something to plug that hole once it is removed. That part is one thing that I feel detracts from the look of the pistol.

My rebate has arrived. Now the decision is whether or not to get a shield 380ez for my wife to try out. For the right price and this rebate I may do that.

I’d be happy to know why they opted to use a totally different slot size for the rear sight on the 22C. I’d rather have the identical fixed sights as the other M&Ps.
