Tisas 1911 A1 U.S.Army

Been wanting another 1911 since I traded my Springfield mil spec 1911 off a few years ago. Been reading up on these for awhile decided yesterday to pick one up gave $448.90 out the door. I know there are those that do not care for a foreign made 1911, your money uour decision. My Springfield frame was made in Brazil so there's that. This one is made in Turkey after shooting it, and going over it I think it is every bit as good as the Springfield I had no problems at all fit and finished as good if not better in some ways. The slide is nice and clean with no billboard sized logo or warnings on it. The trigger while not match grade is plenty good enough for its purpose. Really about the only negative is the magazine is a bit harder to load than my Springfield magazines, but it still works fine. All in all a good solid 1911. The weather here only allowed 50 rounds to be fire. At 25 yards making consistent hits on a coffee can was no problem obviously need to shoot more to see if any problems show up, but first impressions are it is a lot of gun for the money.

I have a couple Tisas BR9's (Browning HP Clone) and IMHO are every bit worthy if not better that the original...Shown is a BNIB to show as an example of the quality.
I sadly have to admit that I was a SNOB and looked down on non traditional made products, but after inspecting the Tisas and my sons ATI Beretta 92 clone, I realize there are many foreign made products better than or equal to the originals...

I picked up a Tisas on Friday afternoon. Put a hundred rounds of Winchester white box 230 grain FML through it and it cycled like a champ. Nothing that even hinted at a FTE or FTF.

I wouldn't say that the magazines are the best I've ever felt, but they work well enough. If this gets any regular range time, I'll start running Ed Brown or Wilson mags in it.

In few days I'll do a head-to-head comparison between it and my WW2-era CMP 1911 (Aniston rework, Remington Rand lower, Ithaca upper). At a quick glance one would be hard to tell from the other.

I just picked mine up yesterday. It appears that it will satisfy my desire to have and older style 1911, but I may have opened a can of worms into the 1911 world…

I learned to shoot a 1911 back in 69 at Fort Gordon. I now have several of the things. However, I don't have any with the military tiny sights. They are accurate pistols and deserving of better sights. Just my opinion, and everything I have read about this Tisas has been favorable.

I also bought a new commander sized Tisas back in December, 2021, and I have been shooting the dickens out of it, both FMJ and Remington Golden Saber JHPs. Not one single FTF or malfunction. I did tweak the rear sights a bit to get in zeroed to my liking at 15 yards.

I've used several different 7 and 8 round magazines with it without any problems. Only thing I've done to it is replace the grips with non-slippery G10s that have a little more aggressive texture.
