    WTT S&W 13-3 357 magnum 3", excellent condition, Sacramento

I have a Smith and Wesson model 13-3, 357 magnum, 3" barrel. This revolver is in excellent condition. I would like to trade it for a Marlin 1894C rifle in 357 magnum. I want a JM stamped rifle please, 18.5" barrel. Thanks for your time. (Third photo is a stock internet photo. I am not a good...

    Lyman 49th or Lee modern

I have the Lee and enjoyed reading it. However, the velocities that they post are from powder manufacturers with test barrels and universal receivers. I use the Sierra manual more than anything. The velocities that they post are from real world guns in real world testing that they do...

    3 or 4 die set

Others have differing opinions on the Lee FCD but I use them and like them. I use carbide dies but I still spray a little RCBS case lube on the brass to save my old elbow.

    Unique powder

Ah, the holy trinity. Not only do these cover all of my handgun loads, and have for years, but I also use 2400 and Unique, at 16gr and 10gr respectively, in my cast bullet rifle loads for my 30.06, 30-30 and 7X57. It really wasn't until the shortages hit that I started experimenting with other...

    My next target Revolver

586, not 686. In my opinion revolvers should be blued with walnut stocks. That being said you would be hard pressed to find a more accurate gun than the 686.

Want to see where all the .22 LR ammo is???

Every time I start to agree that "we are our own worst enemies" something happens to restore my faith in my fellow gunners. Last week I was in my LGS in a vain attempt to find pistol powder. An oldtimer overheard me ask for HP38. As I was leaving he stopped me. Short story, he sold me two...

    S&W .22's

Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing. A 6" M17 is one of my bucket list guns. Once I get one of those, and a 2" J frame, I will be done. Yeah, right.

By all means ask questions. What a lot of guys don't tell you is that they asked oldtimers tons of questions when they were young. It was in person rather than online. I am a big believer in sharing load info. In these days of limited powder availability sharing info can save you from going...

Guys in my generation (senior citizens) are used to ancient archival technologies (books, magazines, encyclopedias, etc.) These storage mediums required motivation and diligence. As a bonus we were often pulled to subjects tangential to our original topic but no less informative and rewarding...

    First time reloading 45acp

I may get flamed for this but +/- .2 gr is nothing. If you were to open 50 factory rounds the variations in weight would surprise you. Those loads look fine. I have gone as high as 8.8 gr of A#5 in my 1911. You are loading for a 1911 and not a revolver, right? Not that it matters much but...

    1911 Specific Ammunition

Thank you Winchester! Me and my old Auto Ordnance have been doing it wrong for 30+ years! I feel like such an idiot with my range brass and bullets cast from wheel weights.

"Is there anything better than a Model 19?" Not really.

    Question for the Reloaders

What you need to understand about powders is that each has it's own volumetric density. That means that a CC of one powder weighs different than a CC of another powder. Or conversely, 10 grains of one powder takes up a different amount of space in a case than 10 grains of a different...

Question on 158 Lead SWC in .357

This is correct. Bullet fit is more important than hardness. "Without knowing throat or groove diameter, I wouldn't conclude a .358 bullet will work. I would suggest you start by slugging your barrel with a pure lead slug. Then take the slug and see if it will pass through the cylinder...
