Just got my copy of "Tactical Response" magazine where it is mentioned that Winchester has come out with "Win 1911" ammo designed to reliably feed in model 1911 handguns. It is available in 230 grain JHP and a 230 grain FMJ training round.

Nice marketing! I applaud anything that puts a spotlight on the 1911. :)

The FMJ with a flat tip looks a little funny, but the JHP bullet profile looks a lot like some of the Federal HST in my ammo closet or maybe Remington Golden Saber.

I guess their claim to fame will be the similar shooting experience for both the practice and carry rounds?

Admittedly, everything functions smoothly in our well broken in modern 1911's, even Federal Classic with its sharp edged cone.

No, I do not own a "real 1911" from WWII, sadly enough. :o

I guess Win1911 ammo is "aimed" at those old classics and at new shooters who have troublesome guns (please pardon the pun).

Thank you Winchester! Me and my old Auto Ordnance have been doing it wrong for 30+ years! I feel like such an idiot with my range brass and bullets cast from wheel weights.

H&G 68 200 gr SWC feeds as good as ball. Wonder what those babies will cost. I'll roll my own for pennies.

My 1911 (11, not 11A1) is circa 1924 and it shoots those 230's just fine. In fact it shoots anything just fine. Now if I could only hit the target.....LOL.

My wife's only complaint was that I used to buy too many guns. Now that she got her carry permit, when I buy a new one I tell her its hers. Problem solved!

I would like to offer the above, slight correction to your post (in bold type), sir.

Hope you don't mind . . . your system also works well at our house. :)

Yeah, well, I'm a bit more modest, but your edit is ok.
