B_san, Thanks for the info. I bought the 342 6 or 8 years ago, not knowing what a niche it would fill. Now it bounces between her purse and as a back up for me. It makes a great "to the mailbox and back" gun, but it sure does have a bite.

I just bought a sig scorpion 1911. By FAR the most expensive gun I've ever bought. It's settling into a real good shooter, and as soon as the random FTF goes away, it'll be a cold weather carry.

I know a guy in Mich that has a sig 220 duty gun, and carries 4 mags on belt... I think guys used to strap on the least amount of gear and nowadays, do the opposite.

I carry the shield, and shoot the 9c in Idpa competition. The 9c is much easier to carry (it's 38 degrees outside) under a coat, but in the summer I'll be back to my shield. I have them both because my wife said I can.

Nah. My buddy-who-shall-remain-nameless takes his to both. Here (Michigan) may be diff than there, but here any LEO can carry anywhere with the exception of Federal buildings.
