I just took a couple of pictures of the last (2) S&W handgun purchases. One is the 3" Model 547 9mm and the other is the MSHP model 60 .38. The model 60 has the grips that allow you to drop it in your front pocket while the grip doesn't allow it to go all the way in. Sorry for the delay.
38 special. I stopped by my LGS yesterday at the same time an older gentleman, who I know, was bringing in some earlier S&W revolvers to consign. The owner, of the store, let me look through them and I bought a very nice stainless 1931-1981 Missouri State Highway Patrol model 60 snub nose...
As a retired LEO, if you use reloaded ammunition for self defense and actually have to defend yourself, you will be crucified in court. I still carry the same manufacturer’s ammunition that I carried in the line of duty. Reload a similar load for practice and carry a well known manufacturer’s...
My daily concealed carry gun is a Glock 10 mm. I carried a Glock 23 .40 S&W in the line of duty and still have the gun. My department supplied ammunition for either 9mm or .40 S&W. Being that .40 S&W has approximately 50% more kinetic energy than a 9mm it was an easy decision for me. My...
There is only one on Gunbroker right now. It is a 4”, which is less desirable and usually sells for less than the 3”, even though there were less of them made. It appears to be in 75-80% without the box and the starting bid is $1900.00. The earlier pinned barrel version was built in 1981-82...
This is a little out of the norm as my daily concealed carry gun is the Glock model 20, 10mm. I was nicknamed Tackelbarry after qualifying with a .44 magnum for backup and off duty. I shot a 99.6 with a S&W 2 1/2” “bear tracks” that I installed a tritium front sight on. Good times!
I have heard of the S&W model 547 9mm revolver, but have never seen one before today. I stopped by the GLS that refers people to me for tactical training and they had one that had just come in. It is the 3” round butt, with the original serial numbered box, and in 99+ % condition. For some...
WTS: "SOLD PENDING FUNDS". S&W .44 magnum Backpacker "Bear Tracks" package.
As the title states, this is the S&W .44 magnum Backpacker "Bear Tracks" that comes ported from the factory. S&W only produced (500) of these guns. This gun has a tritium front sight, is in as new condition, and was...
Good one! To my defense, I was using
Hornady 300 gr. XTP. But you are right, I enjoy shooting my factory ported .44 magnum more than my scandium M&P .357.

Hopefully, this will allow anyone who wants to to easily access Check Six Training on YouTube.
I am very sorry to hear about both of your losses. I have been with my wife for 32 years and couldn't imagine what either of you went through.
Please feel free to pass along my YouTube channel so others will subscribe. As you can see, I try to make all of our videos less than 5 minutes and...
Congratulations! Technique is everything when shooting a large caliber handgun. I have the 2 1/2" Backpacker "Beartracks " and I love it. Welcome to the club.
Very nice! I like the wood grips. The only change I made to mine was to add a front night sight. And I only found out recently that they only made 500 of the "Beartracks" guns. Makes me wish I hadn't sold the other one.
