Who here is an original owner of their P&R and earlier revolvers?

My, my..... Still a couple of members reading and contributing to this thread.. I believe the replies to the thread predictably revealed, to many of us, a life-long appreciation and special attachment many members of this forum have for the S&W family of fine firearms. I hope many young...

Question on original no dash 66 grips

I might add a personal observation on early Mod. 66 no-dash guns..... For some reason many early 66's I owned and observed seemed to be very commonly equiped with unusually "orangeish" colored target football stocks. Much more so than the color found on other K and N frame football targets...

picked up my new 69 today

I love mine! They are destined to become a favorite revolver to all who own them... To produce the the 69 and the 66-8's were excellent decisions by S&W... Now! If they would just consider making the L frame in 41 Mag... For many of us that would "Make our day..."

    Affinity for the model 27/28

There are several features that make the Mod. 27-2 my favorite S&W handgun... I'm no expert but I'll tell ya what I like.... I love the additional features found on this model that were indicative of fit finish and detail of S&W's of that era. Bright blueing, pinned barrels and recessed...

    *Opinions/input on new S&W 3" K frame*

Others are answering your questions well. These are nice guns! The S&W revolver is back and they are a major success in style, engineering and function... If PB permits a photo here is a picture of two of mine....

Two Early Model 66s Photo of 629 added 5/5

Doc's posts always have me salivating profusely in my easy chair... This Mod. 66 no-dash is no exception..... For info, I have Ser. No. 2K636XX, a bit lower than the other two early guns mentioned on this thread which I purchased new in 1973. I have a Jinks' letter indicating mine was...

The 69 and 66-8 2.75s are finally here!!

Here's the whole family! S&W really has a winner with these new revolvers. I hope the trend continues and new calibers, especially the .41 Mag, will be offered in the L frame soon.:)

The 69 and 66-8 2.75s are finally here!!

These two new guns seem to really be in the distribution system right now. As a long time collector and shooter I believe they are both going to be among the most popular revolvers ever issued, especially with this barrel length. If you can swing the price on either you may want to give them...

The 69 and 66-8 2.75s are finally here!!

Got my 69 2.75 day before yesterday and a 66-8 2.75 will be here tomorrow. I'm showing the 69 with its 4" brother.... Most of us have been waiting 6 to 8 months to see an appearance. It was worth the wait in my opinion. They appear to be showing up at all the major distributors in both...

Show some beautiful wood, if you will...Part 2

I love to see all these examples of highly figured wood…. Occasionally some of us can “luck out” and find some well figured factory wood on some inexpensive firearms that can, with some effort, change the whole appearance of the gun…. I found three such very inexpensive Russian Baikal...

    Smith&Wesson .357 Magnum Model 27-2

The 5” S&W Mod. 27 is my favorite handgun. As has been mentioned it is, as are all its various barrel lengths, the “Premier” offering from S&W during its era. It was the only handgun, to my knowledge, offered with checkering on the top strap and barrel. That it’s so sought after by so many...

    PC627 likes dislikes?

I have a large collection of S&W handguns.... The OP has asked about the 627PC and that naturally invites a comparison of both the 27 and the 627PC by those fortunate to own both... For me, both the 27-2 and the 627 PC are the two S&W handguns that everyone should own, especially with a 5"...

Patridge front sight for a 686?

Here are two very early production examples of the 686's being discussed. This 6" was shipped with a highly uncommon pinned Patridge front blade. This 4" was shipped with a common integral red ramp (no pin).
