Any thoughts on the M&P 15 model 11511?

Good morning, all. Though not a rabid fan of the AR platform, I believe it has a variety of uses ranging from plinker to defense. Not being particularly enamored of the AR, however, finds me grandly ignorant. I really want a plain Jane AR with the carry handle. Sadly, those are rare. S&W...

I'm trying, murphy lol! Unfortunately, I'm a few folks down on his list of prospects. I give the gentleman kudos for having morals and scruples as I'd have paid him on the spot. Unfortunately, there are others who have expressed interest and he is giving each a chance to buy or pass. I'm...

If it wasn't for the lock, Sailfish, I would grab a new one in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I just can't get past an unnecessary feature that has even the slightest chance of causing a malfunction. The pre-lock models are not only more attractive, they're more reliable, in my opinion.

She is a heavy darling, Bullet, but it would be a carry piece for me during winter when I can conceal it under a jacket. Most likely, I'd go for a good shoulder holster like the Monarch from Andrews Leather. The weight and muzzle blast for me are inconsequential as my current cold weather...

You hit the nail on the head, RV. The fact that it's pre-lock, local, and in excellent shape with the matching box (yep, I'm a sucker for that) is, for this area, a deal. Not great, not even good, but definitely a deal in an area where too many people think Glocks are the be-all, end-all.

Chances are very good I'll purchase, Smith. I loathe the locks on new Smith revolvers, but really want to add to my 649 and my soon-to-own NIL 442/642. I really like the 686 Plus, and finding a pre-lock Smith around here with no lock, in a condition above beat-to-dust is a rarity.

I've tried to talk him down, Sail, but the rascal won't budge lol. The problem is our area, in my opinion. Excellent condition pre-lock Smiths are rare in these parts, and, sadly, go for more than they probably should.

Pre-lock, SA. He says it is a 686-5. I confess much ignorance of Smith revolvers as my interest in them beyond the J frames is just starting to warm.

...a pre-lock 686 Plus 2 1/2"? Found one close to me for $900 firm. The gun is in pristine condition with the matching box and all documents. The gentleman states he has put about 300 rounds through it and it has been a safe queen for the last few years. Judging from the cleanliness of the...

    M&P 340 (no lock) or 640 Pro

Good evening, all. I cannot thank you enough for the thoughts. While I still like the 340/640, and really want to pick one up, I believe I am going to go with the NIL 442/642, and save a few hundred dollars that will go to the possible purchase of a pre-lock 686 Plus 2 1/2" that I found today...

    M&P 340 (no lock) or 640 Pro

Good morning, all. I am looking for a small, lightweight revolver for carry and have narrowed it down to the M&P 340 no lock or 640 Pro. I like these as they fit what I am looking for with the ability to fire .357 or .38. Do any of you good folks carry either or both of these revolvers? If...

    629-6 Performance Center 170135 opinions

Good evening, all. I swore I would never own a revolver with the internal lock, but I really like the size of the 629-6 170135. I'd love to hear opinions about this revolver as I believe it may be my next firearm purchase. Thank you much, and have a great night. Aaron

Does anyone have an M&P15 811000?

I'm looking specifically for a 6920 or 6720. In this area you can't touch either for less than $950 and online isn't much better. If you know a dealer that has either model for under $900 I'd be very interested and extremely grateful. :-)

Does anyone have an M&P15 811000?

In a sad way, I suppose I am stuck on Colt. I think it's a mixture of nostalgia and the Colt name mystique. I refuse, however, to pay the prices the Colts seem to command when it isn't really as I think it should come. I bid on the 6720 as the price is relatively low right now. A couple of...
