I have one of the 1980s made HB 10-8 model 10s. It shoots just as well, although its finish is not quite as pretty as on yours. Mine is a former Victoria, Australian Police revolver.
My shield is my cold weather CC gun. During warm months I carry an LCP in my pants pocket or cargo pocket in shorts. Here in Alabama, the LCP gets carried more often.
Wow! The safety haters on here who are so quick to smuggly disparage those who want a safety, remind me of the anti-gunners who would question why anyone would "need" a gun at all.
I wonder how many folks who have had negligent discharges with their striker fired pistols talked the same way...
I sold my G23 specifically to buy a M&P 40 for the same reason you mention. I have to admit, the Glock has a better trigger, but in all other areas I prefer the M&P. I have since picked up a used 9mm barrel for it and have the best of both worlds.
I finally got to shoot my M&P 40 with the 9mm barrel. It work perfectly through a box of 50 115 grn FMJ rounds. I used an aftermarket 9mm magazine. The only difference I saw, other than recoil, was that the 9mm grouped a little tighter.
someone mentioned the "heavier weight" of the .40 slide. Has any one compared the weight of a .40 and 9mm to see if there is actually any difference? The recoil spring is the same, at least they both have the same S&W stock number. The barrels have exactly the same external dimensions with...
Curt, I read your post as it was written. I saw no whining or indication you are "jaded." I'm glad Rowlette is here to make sure we all hold to proper gun buying decisions (sarcasim intended.)
Here is my 29-2. This was carried for many years by a LEO. Until his wife shot him with it and he retired. Bought from his estate for $300. I shoot it farily often, but with .44 mag cases loaded to .44 special velocities.
Question the learned crowd here. These grips are being billed as fitting both the square butt and round butt L frames. The vendor is making them new over seas. Besides the fact that they are knockoffs, will these indeed fit a round butt frame? They appear to be cut for square butt. Maybe...
I have a heavy barrel 10-8 that was re-imported recently from the Victoria Police in Australia. Evidently quite a few came in and were handled by several distributors. Mine is in excellent condition, made about 1980. It some how sneaked back into the country with no re-import marks. They...
