You need to find a new gunstore where they know what they are talking about. I run a Gemtech on mine and its very quiet. You hear the gun cycling and bullet noise. It doesnt like to cycle subs, I run Federal bulk box thru mine.

Not mine. Crystal clear shooting out 150yds, although most of my shooting is under 100 yds. For the price I find it hard to beat Nikon optics.

I have both. But in my opinion you should start with a bolt action .22 and learn how to shoot first since your new. Much more to it then just being a owner. That said welcome to the world of firearms once you buy one...it won't be your last. Go shooting with someone and try out both guns if...
