I bought a .40 5" ported CORE and my dad has a 9 ported CORE and neither had much of an audible or tactile reset. The 9 you could catch if you really focused, my .40 gave no clue. I installed a RAM from Apex and it helped some, then I put in a new slide stop with the hump and now have a very...
I do not shoot as much as I would like to, but I have started doing serious dry practice. I would need a backyard range and a lot more money to shoot as much as I would like.
I had been thinking I might have a problem with the extended mag dropping. I did two things that convinced me that it isn't a gun problem, but a me problem. One I had a friend shoot it and he put several 7 round mags through without any problem. Then I really watched my grip and put a couple...
I put some Truglo TFO's on my shield and yes, the rear sight was hard to get out. I mushroomed the tips of 2 brass punches and one fairly soft steel punch. I ended up using a square headed driver bit to get it out (yes the set screw was removed before trying to remove the sight). The original...
For me it is definitely the grip. I have big hands (also a lefty, my issue couldn't happen if I could reverse the release) and if I do no pay attention I let me right hand wrap around a bit too far. This allows the tip of my right index finger to push against the the pad on my left middle...

20 135 Ranger T
~200 180gr Ranier HP Reloads.
No problems at all with the gun. Had a grip issue with the extended mag at first, but got that worked out so I don't depress the mag release on recoil (I am a lefty).
Nope, I do not regret getting the .40 at all. Like I said I will probably get a 9 conversion barrel for it just for flexibility, but I am very happy with my .40.
I would say that the muzzle flip is very comparable. I did not shoot them side by side today (will have to do that next time). It of course had more flip than my full size M&P, but it was nearly as pleasant to shoot.
Another reason I got the .40 is because I figured that companies would be...
I picked up a Shield .40 yesterday and thought I would share a few of my observations.
First, like I have seen many people mention I was concerned about what the recoil would be like, and how fast I would be able to get back on target. After about 140-150 rounds through it I can say that I...
