I have a 1300 and cannot remember what the choke on the barrel is for one and second cannot remember if I can use slugs in the original barrel. I would like to use this in a USPSA 3 gun shoot in a couple weeks.
Thanks for your help on this!!

The barrel is 18" and has a full length magazine tube. There is no rear sight like a rifle would have. The muzzle doesn't look like it has threaded inserts for various choke but I could easily be wrong.

That would be an improved cylinder choke or IC. Best for slugs IMO. And you're right it should'nt be threaded for replacement chokes.

I kind of thought that but haven't used in about 7 years. Best to know for sure. Looking forward to a 3 gun shoot!

Just make shure your shells are new and not banged up any especially around the rim area. I had a 1300 defender and sold it after finding out the hard way that the design of the bolt head area is finicky. I deer hunt with the 12-gauge and slugs and shells if there cycled too much in an out of guns like my 870, ithaca or mossberg will be fine in them but the Winchester it would lock the gun up and wouldn't eject out and had to go to a gunsmith. The gunsmith said this is a common problem with the 1200-1300 design. I thought that to be not good on a gun that is marketed as a security product.

I have owned one for 25 years. Shot just about every kind of load out of it, including some old duck loads from the early 60s. Never a bobble or hickup. It goes bang every time from a frozen salt marsh to a blazing hot dove field digesting several hundred rounds a day.

Plus, the 1300 is the only pump gun that will cycle the mini-shells. No other brand will cycle them without gunsmith modification.

I have that model. IIRC it is cylinder choke.

Oh. And I would be wrong then. ;)
