Hi shooters,

I absolutely love my model 586 Smiths, and was thinking of getting a tattoo of this revolver ( Blued 6 inch ).. so i am after any ideas on how i could portray such a fine revolver on my skin :-)
Does anyone have any tatts of Smiths to give me some ideas ?
Most likely will get one on my bicep area, or forearm... :D

Hi Anthony.

A Google Image Search for "Smith & Wesson Tattoo" will give you a few results to ponder.

Photos when you get it completed!

The art should fit the area and the bicep screams for circular work. May I suggest:

We got some tattoos as well (no S&W) but if you want to ink the Logo you have to watch out for the size. It's really complex in the middle with alot of lines and stuff going on.
And if you wanna shade it all you see then is a black spot ;)

Go to a tattoo studio which you can trust and ask for help. They can draw you some stuff you don't even thought about :)

Good luck and pictures please when it's done :D

Here is one that might look pretty good, msn

May I ask, what is the fascination with tattoos these days?
It is your body do with it as you please, I am just curious.

Living in a small area has its advantages and I am seeing
more and more of them and although I know that I am
stereotyping most of the tattoos in this area are being
worn by those that don't work.

thanks in advance for any replies.

Terry,

That seems to be a common thread with those with tattoos in my area as well.

When I was a young man I dated a very pretty young lady that worked for a pathologist. I would escort her to the morgue at night because she was afraid to be there by herself and she steno graphed all of his recordings into files. I never will forget that the pathologist couldn't let any tattoo or other man made markings go without a series of jokes. Remember tattoo's are like herpes, they last forever.

getting your first tattoo is like getting your first S&W...you will crave for more, and your cravings will only get worse....

until...

I'm so glad that i never did get the 3 Stooges tattoo that i was considering 20 years ago.

I have two so far and will be adding a third soon. They all mark something significant to me. The second was a tribal I designed to remember my wife when she passed away at the age of forty. The first was a Texas flag celebrating 5 years as a Texas resident and working as a sound guy at my first Willie Nelson fourth of July concert. The next one will be a dive flag under the Texas flag marking my fifth year as a diver (including advanced and rescue certifications).

it may be that those are the only ones that you notice. i work in the printing industry, been with the some company through various name changes/mergers/ and ownership changes over the 14 yrs that i have worked there. many of my coworkers, and myself, have tattoos. there are some with full sleeves, back pieces, legs covered(shorts are allowed in certain departments), and even upper management have them. it could be that you are just slightly biased and only seeing the ones that you would expect to see with tattoos.

Not sure if your aware of it but if you ever found the need to work in a public job you will find they call those "Everlasting Job Stoppers". We hire a few people with tats but they are required to keep them covered at all times. Not that you would ever find the need but you yourself mention ownership changes over 14 years and anything in print is suffering now due to computers and the nets influence. What if you had to look for other work, have you limited yourself? Just my .02 cents.

tatoos?

Just ask yourself this: Say you inherited $250K. Would you take the investment advice of someone who rides a Harley and is all "sleeved out" in ink and goes on "Runs" or the skinny computer geek who rides his bike to work every day and plays violin in a symphony and teaches at the local community college? Nothing against Harleys or violins, they are just props to better illustrate my point.

Really?

I was thinking for a while if I should reply or nor.

But all I can say is "really?"

It's not just the whole thread gets abused with a fundamental question. No, some people here also think that only "bad guys" have tattoos.

Where do you live please? It's 2012... come on... it's ridiculous.

I'm not a fan of tattoos, but if I were to get one of a gun. . .

When I was statoned at Ft. Campbell in the late 80s I remember one of our E8s developing skin cancer under his tatoo's and after watching what that man went through with this disease it broke me from any desire of ever having a tatoo.

I have been in this argument for over twenty years. The only satisfactory answer is: " Yeah, yeah we're a bunch of foolish, Godless heathens who have no clue. Now go away."
