How do I put a 2 point sling on a 15-22?

Hello all, I am not new to guns but I am completely new to AR's.

I just bought an M&P 15-22 today and I would like to know everything that I will need to put a 2 point sling on it. I really have no idea how to do it.

You will need to have a front and rear sling mount, one for the rail and one for the buffer, unless you can attach it to the stock? Also different slings have different attachments.
Magpul or any other will do just make sure you get the right stuff.
The comps I shoot do not allow sling use, so although I have a rear sling mount on my buffer tube its more for style than substance

Get a sling mount / adapter and attach it to one of the side rails on the handguard, attach one end of the sling to it and the other end to your collapsable stock.

I have a couple Proctor Slings and love them. $30 and no need for sling mounts.

This is what I did. I made 3 purchases.

1) Magpul CTR stock. It is a great stock with a friction lock, so there is no wobble. It comes with an ambidextrous QD sling mount.

2) Troy Q.D. 360 Push Button Swivel Rail Mount. I bought 2 so as to be ambidextrous. I shoot left handed while my friends are right handed.

I have a Magpul RSA (Rail Sling Attachment) for the front and a Midwest Industries MCTAR-30 mount for the rear.

For the rear sling mount, remove the stock, slide on the adapter, tighten, and put the stock back on. You will lose the closest adjustment hole for the adjustable stock, but I never used that one anyway. This adapter has a notch for the ridge on the 15-22 'buffer tube' and fits without modifying the adapter.
