Bianchi "Bodyguard" grips

FYI - I recently bought a pair of these (K-frame sized) that were brand new, unused (the box has seen better days) off of flea bay for $45.00 (+ $5.50 s&h).

I've never actually seen a pair for the J-frames. I'd love to have a set of those even though I just traded my Model 60-7 and don't have a J-frame with an exposed hammer at present.

Best of luck,

Dave

I've had this set for years on my Model 60. I've found that the Bianchi Lightning grips do increase the weight, as they have a steel inner portion. That's good and bad. It helps to tame recoil, but makes the gun a bit more burdensome to carry. I find this setup ideal for use with a shoulder holster, though.

John:

I just traded a lovely Model 60-7 to a fellow forum member. Fortunately, I soon found a Model 649 that I just purchased to take the place of the Model 60. If I had been able to find a set of Bianchi Lightnings like yours, I might still have my Model 60. Oh well, no regrets. I traded to a real gentleman, and we are both happy with the deals we made with each other.

Regards,

Dave

The J-frame version is a good option for calibres that are harder to find than .38s in Centennial/Bodyguard styles.

They are not necessary if you use the Massad Ayoob method for pocket presentation of a small revolver with exposed hammer.

He recommends placing the thumb on the hammer spur to create your own shroud. This allows draw of an exposed hammer revolver from the pocket without any hang-up.

LOL... yeah ok another "invention" by the famous master of self-promotion. That technique has been around as long as the revolver....

In theory it works great until you are knee deep in bad guys, your Mod 60 is jammed into the front pocket of your jeans and you have one second to draw without ripping the lining out of your pocket.

I prefer a hammerless gun and a good solid pocket holster every day of the week.

Great post on a zombie thread! Wanna laugh? Watch me try to draw a hammer gun from a laundry bag, let alone a jeans pocket! Forget the pocket lining, you can't even defend yourself. Again, great post!

Thanks Haywood,
I received the Bianchi Lightning grips today, and tried them on my 2 1/2" Mod 19. I like the Concept of the grips, alto quite heavy. I will now look for a set to try on my old Mod. 60, and If I find a set at a good price, I will try them also.
