Walmart Ammo Report - Ready for Hunting Season

Because someone doesn't sympathize with you're rant you accuse them of "wearing a nice arm band... producing papers". If you had taken to time to read my entire post you could easily see i identify with the problem, just see it differently. I'm thankful these young people are out and earning money not living off parents. So maybe you see me in the same boat as the person selling you the ammo, with contempt how dare they? Anyways all the best to you, please be mindful stores are private businesses that have to follow laws, and that is the reason for having these policies.

You told me to "get over it"..and also "doesn't sympathize with my rant"?

Ok....you are defending a policy, agreeing to it and accepting it by being OK showing your ID to a relative child to prove " in my mid 50's", that you are old enough to buy beer, because of a store policy. The Law, for ammo is 18 or 21, and 21 for alcohol. It's ridiculous to card somebody OBVIOUSLY older than the person selling said item. Those same vendors want you to show ID to buy a can of spray paint, or canned whip cream, because somebody might huff it. I choose not to give vendors with these policies my hard earned money. I stand by my statement.

We can agree to disagree. Good day to you Sir.

Wow, take it easy. Doubt anyone agrees, condones having to show ID to buy ammo at wally world but thats Their rules so one has to comply or no ammo. IMHO its a pile of chicken droppings as Many other “ things” at wally world. Got to know one clerk that works in sporting goods, the stories I’ve heard. All sales in sporting goods are recorded by video camera so they Have to Ask for ID. Also the store manager and district manager has much to do regarding what’s in the store. Bass Pro/ Cabela’s and G.T. Distributors get my business.

No I said "get over it, it's not about you". Do not change the content to try and fit some lame narrative to fit your version on what has been stated in this discussion. Stores have to have policies to protect themselves. If you are so easily offended maybe a class action lawsuit for "Elder Abuse" could route the evil shop keepers from these Draconian Policies. You're entire premise that law is the only deciding factor a retailer should honor is based on what? Example if I'm a guest in your domicile I should only follow the laws of government, because if I put my boots on the coffee table there is no laws that prohibits me from doing this, but I bet ya you got a policy about this!

I have a nice movie theater near me with a full bar. They ID everyone. I’m 63 and I go there every weekend and get a nice drink and sit in a recliner and watch a movie. They know me, and they still card me. Why?

Because the company that owns the theater chain says employees have to card everyone or they are fired. No exceptions. They will send little old ladies in to order a drink, then say: Oh my goodness! I left my ID in the car! Can’t you tell I’m old enough? That night: Fired.

I could harrumph harrumph harrumph, but I’d rather have a nice drink and watch a movie. Or I could stay home.

Oh heck...I'm not even a drinker and I think a theater with a bar is kinda neat. Remember though...the POLEECE in some places target restaurants etc that serve liquor and beer when patrons leave. The so called "low hanging fruit".:rolleyes:

The software in some stores require the clerk to prove the buyer is old enough to buy the ammo. Those stores could have a policy of carding everyone no matter what just to be sure they don't run a foul of the law.

Speaking of buying beer or liquor:
My cousin worked in a sports bar and someone came in and ordered a burger and a beer. The guy looked at least 30 or more. When he got back to the bar the guy was gone and another guy showed him a badge and says, you were going to serve someone a beer who is under age. My cousin said, hay wait, where is this guy and show me his ID to prove he is under age, no way he is under 21! They would not show an ID and sited him. He went to court to try and remove this from his record and his lawyer told the judge the officers refused to show his client proof of under age and besides, my client never did serve the alcoholic beverage to him because he was no longer there and no money passed hands.

For some unknown reason none of that made a difference. It seems the authorities were looking to get this bar and my cousin was caught up in the mess. Of course he got fired even though he never did serve that beer to a alleged minor.

IMO, having a policy of carding everyone no matter what is a good way to protect the bar and the workers so don't be hard on them.

I have other examples of stores like Best Buy proofing everyone when buying a CD or video game rated Red or Black and PAL but I won't bore everyone.

One of the more effective ways to ensure compliance is to apply the rule to everyone. If not, the uncertainty about when to apply the rule can create disruption. Some people are obviously older, some are not.

Back on tracks of ammo, grabbed this last week, would prefer the lead but this will do.
