I put about 100 rounds through my new Sig P365 today. Shot 100 rounds without failure, good groups, just love it, but...

Ever since I first shot it everything I fire in it is anywhere from 2-5 inches to the left of point of aim. Depending on ammo and range to target. The vertical is decent just shooting left.

It's a dovetail rear sight the night sights. Can it be drifted to the right with a pin punch? Or do you have to have a sight presser tool?

Wouldn't you want to drift the rear sight left instead of right? Or am I confused, which happens all to frequently these days.

My left groups are due to poor shooting technique. I find myself failing to separate my trigger finger action from the other fingers grasping the grip more strongly, and thereby turning the barrel - slide to the left.

Every so often we all come across a gun where that happens, and it can be very difficult to fix. I think it happens when the grip shape and total circumference get in conflict with the length of your fingers, the length of particular finger joints, and the amount of meat on your hand.

My P365 also shot to the left but I could not budge the sight with a punch and hammer. I used a very good sight pusher and it did what I wanted in a precise way. It was extremely tight!

That may well be my problem because I've shot couple different factory loads and 4 or 5 different reloads and all of them are off left.

A sight pusher is the best option. If the sight is not too tight, a punch will work, but it's more difficult to get it right. Some sights are so tight that it's impossible to move them with a punch in a way that won't risk ruining the sight and/or gun.

For what it's worth, and I did post this on another thread just recently, I'd no longer use a hammer and punch on any sights with Tritium Vials in them! My vile in the front sight of my Sig was knocked out by trying to move the sight! Sig did replace it and I did move it with a borrowed sight pusher.

I have never owned a gun with Tritium Sight vials before so I was not privy to this happening. Defective glue job - who knows, but I know it was still there after shooting many hundreds of rounds. My recommendation is to use a real sight pusher with sights containing glass vials.

I've had my P365 for a couple months now. Came out of the box shooting everything left. Used a sight drifter to move it right and now it's dead on accurate. I shoot this gun better than any 3" semi-auto I've ever fired.

My son just got a brand new P320 and I took him to the range to shoot it for the first time this weekend. Everything was right of target.

Great pistols, but sight adjustment may be needed.

It's almost certainly you and not the gun. But don't feel bad, you are not the only one. i have fought this myself on a few guns. I watched a few videos to develop a different grip style and it seems to have helped.

As for drifting the sights, you might damage the tritium lamps by hammering on them, but they should move. You might need to soak them in PB Blaster first. I bought a sight pusher from Real Avid, which works fine.

I'd say it probably is me especially since everything shoots left. And I think I'll just go ahead and buy a sight pusher instead of beating on it with a hammer.

Well

I took the P365 out today, beautiful day here BTW, and put another 50-60 rounds downrange and found out you guys were right. It was just me.

I made a very conscious effort to not squeeze my fingers around the grip as I was pulling the trigger and bingo, center mass.

Out of 5 or 6 ten round mags I pulled maybe 3 or 4 rounds off to left. I was shooting offhand at about 7 yards. On an average mag I'd put 5 or 6 inside an about 3" bull maybe one or two low or high. But like I said very few off to the left.

I don't know if it was just the weight of the little Sig? the trigger pull ? it's a different feel. But I threw everything to the left - always! And I was using the same ammo.

And now I've learned something else thanks to you guys :)

Hand size means a lot on smaller grips like the 365. Having XL hands I was pulling shots left on mine, installed a Hogue Handall, started hitting POI.
