A New Addiion to the Assortment - Sig P210

Really nice!! I have heard great things about the 210. I also know they are very pricey. Nevertheless, congrats!

I predict that you will love it! I've had mine for close to three years. It's the most accurate 9mm I've had the pleasure to shoot. Never has hiccupped. It's far more accurate than the owner is. Makes even me look (sorta) good. I like how they combined high quality with modern manufacturing methods in an old-school, but updated pistol. Sig really hit one out of the park.

I purchased my P210 Target a little less than a year ago. They are not inexpensive but I think they're worth every dollar. I really enjoy mine. It has a great trigger...very crisp and light and the overall fit and finish is everything I expected on a firearm in this price range. No buyers remorse here. I have watched the prices on these climb just in the short time I've owned mine.

What Krogen said!

The only downside to ownikng one is every time I think of grabbing a 9mm 1911 I ask myself, "How much better do SAO 9mms get than the 210?" and I pass.

I'd really like a 9 1911 but can never justify the $$$.
Why not both ?....I have a P210 but still plan on purchasing a 1911 in 9mm. I rather like the Springfield Armory Garrison in blue .

I too have one of the P210A's; had it for around 3 years. It's very accurate and peasant to shoot. However, its recoil spring assembly came apart very soon after I got it and was replaced under warranty. This was a common problem back then and much discussed on the SIG forums. There is/was an Israeli or Greek company that made and sold a more captive and better designed RSA that currently resides in my P210A, and I've had no further problems with it. -S2

lamarw, I suspect you'll find the 210A to be a worthy addition to your collection. I'd owned 210s on and off since the '80s, and had some misgivings about the potential lack of quality of a US produced version. I bought a target model like yours shortly after they were introduced, just to see how bad they might be as compared to the Swiss and German 210s. Well the American 210A turned out to be a precisely fitted, accurate and reliable example of the breed. Still have mine, with no plans top trade it on the next shiny object that catches my eye. Enjoy yours.

Nice grips, Rock185. What are they? I've thought about swapping grips and putting flat floorplates on the mags. So far, just a thought, no action since I like what I already have.

Thank you, Rock185. I think I'll buy a pair of them for myself. I hope you don't mind another question.

What did you do for the floorplate on the magazine? Sig's carry magazine sticks out a bit on the bottom. The target magazines stick out a lot in keeping with the large target grips. I haven't found floorplates or complete magazines as shown on your pistol.

Thanks in advance!

Regarding the magazines for the Target: I think there's a niche for someone to make a 10-rounder for this gun. It would be a nice addition for those who live in benighted states with a 10-round limit for law-abiding citizens.

But that's just me.

Krogen, The magazine in my photo is the German Legend magazine with a Swiss floor plate. The German magazines with standard Swiss floor plate work in the Swiss, German and American 210s. Wish I'd bought more German magazines and Swiss floor plates back when they were more available.

Congrats on the classy new pistol! But guys and gals, it's hard enough to keep the various Swiss and German variants apart, so let's call the American version by its proper name P210A, safes time and is warranted as the American version arguably introduced the most radical change to the original design in the long history of this classic firearm.

Thanks for the additional information, Rock185. I'll need to replace my target magazines with the carry magazines when I buy the new grips. No doubt the target magazines will work, but they would sure look ungainly. Flat floorplates would be perfect.

Rock thanks for the info. I bought my P210 Target used and it came with a nice set of extra Hogue grips but no flat floor plates so I just keep the original grips on. I think I got a good deal. The original owner was born in Switzerland. Also came with extra mags and an Sig branded Mitch Rosen Holster. Having read about the recoil spring issues I got a new one from Sig. It’s an amazing pistol as others have said. My only complaint is the safety is hard to engage and have to shift grip to do so. Comes off much easier than it goes back on. I understand it’s really a target model but I train for carry with shooting qual courses etc so it’s an issue for me.
Mark8 - if you see this - what is the radical difference with the American version ?
