Not the same as my hardware store has. I make them out of nails. Dress them down to fit, cut, round the ends and put some cold blue on them.

Added:Nails are soft, relatively. You can cut them with wire cutter pliers and easy to reduce the diameter and round. another benefit is you can make them easier to install.

You don't necessarily need a roll pin. If you can't find the appropriate size locally, you can use a piece of Drill Rod and trim to length. If you don't have Drill Rod, you can sacrifice the back end of a drill bit and make one. Use a Dremel to cut and polish it. IMHO it is better than a roll pin - never liked roll pins as their sharp edge can sometimes make the hole a bit oblong.

That said, you should be able to find a Roll Pin locally or if not S&W might send you one. They are ubiquitous these days.
