Custom Ruger Single Six

I like the SS, but that 44 is “JAW DROPPING”. I have a Ruger FT 44 Special with the first of Ron Power’s #5 grip frames built by the Grand Master himself. My favorite single action grip frame by far. Congratulations on two awesome revolvers.

As a custom revolver fiend, both those guns ring the bell! I have an old model dual cylinder Ruger single six down with Ronnie Wells that I have given him carte blanche to build his version of a “Quest” revolver and I would not be surprised to see something similar once he is done.

I have a custom Single Six that John Gallagher built for me. Not as fancy as yours but I like it. It's an old model Suoer Single Six, cut to 4 5/8", and has a brass bead front sight and a wide V-notch rear. It almost always has the .22 Magnum cylinder in place and is ready for a woods walk with 2 shotshells and 3 hollow points.

Great looking revolver.

The Rugers lend themselves to some nice up-grading.

I did a 44FT some time ago that was some ones fastdraw toy orig.
Engraved, Ivory, gold inlay. A Power Custom steel grip frame on that one as well(XR3 size)
Plus a 357 3-screw that I conv to 45Colt and made over into a fixed sight M&P style frame.
Old Army Ruger steel grip frame.

Colts aren't too shabby when worked over either. It's just difficult to find stuff to work on anymore that isn't priced like it's Custer's personal revolver.

Here's my "working" Single Six. Shortened the barrel to 4 5/8", custom grips, Bowen rear sight. Not nearly as custom as my other one, but attractive and accurate. I'd like a Belt Mountain Keith #5 Base pin for it, but I don't think they're in business anymore.

Not my cup of tea, but clearly you had a good idea of what you wanted and found someone who did that well. I am not a single action guy, although I have seen some that interest me. That one looks like a nice investment in enjoyment.

That's a very, very nice Single Six, BlackAgnes.

I took had a (Bisley) .44 Mag with all Power Custom internals and it was sweet.
A shooting buddy wanted it so bad he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I carried this Bisley in .45 for a decade in Montana. The 7 1/2" barrel was cut to 5 inch, internals polished and yellow insert in front ramp/white outline rear, jeweled hammer and trigger.
Those 335 grain hard cast @ 1200 fps. are great penetrators.
