Henry AR7 Survival Rifle

I agree the AR7 has the cool factor. I went to a gun show a couple of years ago with a pocket full of money with a hankering for a new AR7. Turns out a couple of different dealers had new in the box AR7's in both black and camo.

As well as AR7's, one of the dealers had Ruger 1022's as well and a 1022 Takedown LITE caught my eye. Yeah, the Ruger was more expensive than the AR7 but the Ruger ended up coming home with me instead, it has it's own cool factor.

I won one at a Friends of the NRA banquet fundraiser. I had always wanted one, but never got around to owning one. My wife was teasing me because I was so excited over such an inexpensive rifle that I clearly should have purchased one earlier. It is a hoot and has never missed a beat.

PS - it was still less than her monthly horse board payment. That's my story and I'm sticking to it....

Did you have to get the NY gulag semi auto stamp on your pistol permit to purchase it ?
 
I’m kind of partial to this one myself. It’s an excellent little takedown .22 if you can find one.

I got the stamp when they first became law. But for the AR7 he wanted my driver's license and never asked for the PP.
 
As I recall, those AR-7s

Will actually float also. Somebody can correct me if I am wrong but good to know if you are going on a float trip.
 
Charlie they kinda float but only for a little while. Long enough to retrieve it should you drop it or tip a canoe or something.

Wait a minute!!!!! You can not post a pic of an AF Pilot survival knife and a NON AF pilot survival rifle. I’m not having it.

Jim, by entering your DL# they know if you have a pistol permit and semi auto permit. They are all tied together in the database. I’ve you get pulled over by a traffic cop, don’t be surprised if he asks are you carrying a handgun.
