Hello,
I have a 5-screw pre 29 with the black box, but am missing the accessories. What is the correct screwdriver for this model? I think I have one that came with a similar vintage .357, but want to make sure.

Here's what Supica and Nahas have to say:

1940-1958–Blued steel knurled-handled screwdriver with black oxide shaft, long tapered end and wider blade. Guide price: $90.

Supica, Jim; Nahas, Richard. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 5th Edition (p. 199). Gun Digest Media. Kindle Edition.

The sight screwdriver you need has a knurled aluminum handle, steel shaft with a flat (not hollow ground) blade. This type of sight screwdriver was introduced with the 44 Magnum in 1956 (shown on the far left in the photo below).

Welcome to the Forum! Lots of .44 Magnum and Model 29 fans here, so you're in good company. You're fortunate to have a nice 5-screw .44 Magnum with its blue/black pebble grain leatherette case (should have a blue satin lining). Wiregrassguy and Doc44 have described the Sight Adjustment Tool (SAT) that you were asking about, and your case should also have a cleaning rod, brass brush, and cotton swab (mop). You didn't mention the barrel length of your .44 Magnum (4" or 6-1/2"), or the finish (blued or nickel). If you'd like more information about the manufacture date, etc., please include the s/n and a description...our Forum gurus (i.e. Doc44) have a wealth of information about these early revolvers. Photos are always appreciated, too. Enjoy!

Richard, I know you like your packages to be correct so I've got a set of "slightly used" but correct "cokes" for your 44 which I'll happily trade you for those old ivory ones.

Thank you for your gracious and thoughtful offer.:):D I know that I can count on you. That particular 44 Mag is stored separate from the case, BUT stored in the case is a perfect set of Cokes that are assigned to that gun (they may even be the ones from the factory), along with the tools shown in the photo. ... so I'll probably have to pass on your offer at this time.

Thank you all. Of course this is a screwdriver that I do not have, but at least I know what I'm looking for. My pre-29 is blued with the 6.5"
