Regulation Police Target .38 S&W

Congratulations on finding a nice, very rare gun. I've never seen one. I doubt we'll ever see a dozen come out of the woods.
I say that because the gun doesn't make a lot of sense. By the time it was built, K frame Targets in 38 Special had already set world records. Also, as I said, nobody as far as I know ever offered wadcutters in 38 S&W. So, why order such a Target gun in 38 S&W? If one wanted a small lightweight Target gun that could be sighted in precisely to pop heads of hummingbirds, exterminate rats, or kill obnoxious bumblebees, the 32 RP Targets were completely adequate and wadcutters were available!
I'll give that one unicorn status. ;)

Thanks Lee, again I really appreciate that insight. I know scarcity and value aren't the same thing but it's cool to own one of a handful.

Well all that is lacking here is a range report. My guess is that revolver is made to shoot 146 grain round nose lead bullets around 650 FPS. Give those a shot and let us know how well they do.

Jealous! I am.

I actually just found a couple of boxes of NOS Remington ammo on GB that's enroute.
