Looking for recommendations for a qualtiy tool kit to throw in a range bag for doing any sort of repairs or part swaps while at the range.

Any "go to" kits that have a variety of screwdriver bits, picks, punches, etc.?

Agree with robertwalsh.

I put my own together.

We all have our own firearms preferences, so the idea is to have a kit specific to those preferences.

Specific also means to have what one might need, but nothing else. That makes the kit of reasonable size and portability.

Mine lives in my gun box.

Everything except the kitchen sink.

I would add a bushing wrench for 1911 use, some soft towels & see what happens.

You betcha! It's not big, so it fits in my range bag.

You'd be amazed how often I end up helping another shooter tighten or adjust something at the range.

It's a Weaver brand, so the quality is there. Hollow ground screw tips ensure no buggering of the screw heads as well.

The plastic backing block is quite handy as well.

Would you by chance have a part number or UPC Code for this kit? looks very complete for a grab and go.

I'm in the habit of putting together tool & spare parts kits for each toy based on what they use. Boat, 1911, bike, shotgun, RV, etc.
I start with a generic kit but after some tinkering the kit gets specialized down to what you will actually use.

With today's carry optic guns, toting a torque screw driver has become common for me. Not so much for me, but for other competitors who didn't use one for their original dot mount. A spare dot battery for each type you run is a good addition.

As already mentioned, you'll need to specialize to the gun(s) you expect to encounter.

I put together a small tool kit that I always have in my range bag. It is stored in an old Outers metal cleaning kit box so it isn't too big to carry in the range bag. In there are cleaning rods for handguns, a .22 rifle and shotguns, screwdrivers commonly used on S&W and Colt handguns, some common hollow ground flat screwdriver bits for rifles, a few common Allen wrenches, a few torx bits for sight mounting screws, Hoppe's solvent, oil, cleaning patches, Rig gun grease, a Range Rod, bronze and nylon tooth brushes, a few Bore Snakes of different calibers, a very small gun smithing hammer, pipe cleaners, a few pairs of tweezers, a set of assorted bronze and nylon bore brushes and brass patch loops, some nylon picks and a few other small tools I am probably forgetting about. Oh - I also have a few new single edge razor blades and some masking tape wound around a #2 pencil. That is about it and I have used this small but viable kit many times for helping out fellow shooters (and myself from time to time) who have a simple issue I can repair at the range. Anything more complicated gets done back in my workshop.

BTW, this sounds like a lot of stuff, but it really does fit snugly into the old cleaning kit box and has been added to several times over the years on a "need basis". Now I think it's just about right.
