I recently acquired two rounds of USGI surplus (RA 69 headstamp) .38 Special signal flares. They are the most expensive rounds of ammo I've ever bought, as they cost me $66.10, with shipping and tax, for the pair.

In addition to fitting in with my S&W revolver collection, they also fit in well with my USGI surplus pyro collection.

Holy Smokes! Or Flares! $33 bucks a round would add up quickly. But I get it, it's a collection, not for shooting. LOL! Still a pretty serious collection.

Glad you found something you needed for your collection. Are you one of them there pyro-maniac types? LOL! Seriously, with a "collection" of whatever is your interest is, finding a rare item is always exciting. Congratulations!

I have never owned any signal flare ammo but I have had a few 38 special tear gas loads. I either got rid of those or they are hiding in my ammo collection somewhere. Haven't seen them in quite a while.

Thanks for posting. I have never seen these either. I do have some 38 special tracer from WW2 I think
