No, I don't have one.

Has anyone ever seen an RCMP Model 10 in the wild? I collect M10s and this is one of my holy grails. I've never even heard of one, at least in the US.

There was a special run of model 10s with a 2 1/2” barrel. They were made for THE FBI. Michigan State police and RCMP

IIRC (?) the RCMP used 5" Model 10s from 1954 to 1996.
Special marking ??
Colt New Service .45 Revolvers were stamped "NWMP" on the back strap (I owned one in 1964)

My Father was a member of the RCMP from 1951-1972. He was issued a 5" tapered barrel M&P with a lanyard loop. No grip adapter. The revolver was marked "MP" on the bottom of the rear grip frame.

Very first handgun I ever shot was that revolver. A RCMP member by the name of John High who was a poster boy of what an rcmp member was. Big guy with big black moustache who used to stop by the farm on his rounds. I was hooked on revolvers from then on.

According to BruceK on here, in another forum, “the RCMP have not sold any guns since the old Colt New Services which were sold to the members in 1962, federal law does not allow them to sell any guns, they must be destroyed like the Mod 10 S & W's.” I have never seen one in collectors hands or for sale either.

This is one I had pickup a few years ago the gentleman I purchased it from explained he bought it new some time in the early 70s in Hamilton. Said the box it came in had RCMP on the end label but of course the box is long gone . But you buy the gun not the story and I like three inch guns so the story doesn’t matter.4ECFE6C0-14C6-491E-A136-185DC614E8CE.jpeg

No RCMP markings? I won’t buy the story but it’s a nice three inch.

I am asking the OP who said he collects model 10s, if he has a -3 in his collection. They are not common.

I don't. I actually am missing a number of dashes. I have a 10 no dash, a dash 4, several dash 5, a 6, a 7, two 8, and a 15. Plus five M&P and two Victories, a 12-1, 13-2, three 64-3 and a 65-2 and a 65-3.

Just curious. Thanks. My. Understanding is that was in production for just a few days and I can tell you in the last 40+ years I have seen ONE. I bought it. It is a well worn ex PD gun. Mechanically fine but…. Well worn. It is still buried in my safe somewhere.
