Is this a proper fit for Hogue grips? I have send pictures to Hogue about this and so far haven’t heard back. For the money I expected a better fit.

I had a similar issue with Hogue grips on my 586. I think it's because of the way they're secured. When they get snugged up, the insides pull up to some part of the frame and stop. It's a bit "iffy" and much less precise than traditional S&W that attach to the sides. It was simple enough to fix by determining the contact point and attaching some small shims.

It looks like I have some very similar on my 629-6. But they seem to fit a hair off, but not quite as bad as what you have. I didn’t have an issue with the fit because they were cheap if I remember correctly. I might consider sending those back, or sending that picture to them and see what they say. Even if one “only” spends $20, they should fit a lot better than that.
But if this picture works we have about the same stocks, so maybe they didn’t turn up the “Continuity” button on when one set was sent through the machine. (Poor punctuation or something. Sorry.)

smithfelty, those are way off. I've bought Hogues for years, and never seen them off that much. Call them, their customer service is good. I found a set of wood grips very similar to yours at a gun show for $5.00 which fit a GP100 frame, but had no hardware. I called Hogue and they mailed me a stirrup and screw for free.
