Hello, Trijicon customer service informed me that they will no longer be making night sights for 3d Gen pistols. I am looming for a replacement set for a large frame (1076).

Support for S&W's 3rd gen and earlier pistols is pretty much dried up everywhere.

As long as the can re-lamp them we are good here then.
BTW, I have yellow rear lamps on my 5903 and I really like it.

I heard about Trijicon dropping support a year ago, so I had new night sights installed on my pistols and spare slides while they were still available. They will continue to revamp existing sights.

Just a FYI about buying new old stock Trijicon sights online. A few years ago I found some doing an on line search at a reasonable price from an independent retailer. They looked unused when I received them but then I noticed the date stamped them, 2014, they were halfway through the factory's 12 year warranty.

Back then Trijicon was still selling new units so for a few dollars more I bought a fresh set from them & returned the stale ones.

Sellers like to say they are new & unopened, naively acting like it doesn't matter, but for these it does, they get dimmer regardless so beware. ;)

Technically, they are new and unopened, just like a tin can of pork and beans from 1947. It's still new and unopened, but I would not open nor consume a bulging tin can of anything.

I grab those NOS (New Old Stock) factory S&W low mount sight sets whenever I see them. They pop up on the auction sites on occasion. Don't care about the dates when I can easily have them re-lamped @ $19 per lamp and get a refresh on the warranty. Most recently I scored several pn: 19102 sets for a 4506 sets dated '09 for cheap.

Cheers
Bill

Hoping they will honor my SW 1911TA that they shipped without the Trijicon night sites...They told me to send mine in and they'll install them for free ... again hopefully they honor or exchange...
