Technically, they are new and unopened, just like a tin can of pork and beans from 1947. It's still new and unopened, but I would not open nor consume a bulging tin can of anything.Just a FYI about buying new old stock Trijicon sights online. A few years ago I found some doing an on line search at a reasonable price from an independent retailer. They looked unused when I received them but then I noticed the date stamped them, 2014, they were halfway through the factory's 12 year warranty.
Sellers like to say they are new & unopened, naively acting like it doesn't matter, but for these it does, they get dimmer regardless so beware.
