Our son graduated high school with scholastic honors last Thursday evening. It was a very pleasant ceremony and the salutatorian and valedictorian both provided exceptional addresses. Fifty one graduates for this Class 2A school in Goldthwaite, Texas. The graduates had a busy couple of weeks with hardly a single evening open. This seems typical for this town which is centered on churches and schools and cherishes our community youth. What a great experience our son has had in Goldthwaite. We have a few months before he leaves for college and we can clean his room. Whoever said "there can be long days but the years are surely short" knew what he was talking about. The last 18 years have literally flown.

First pic is procession

Second pic is our son with the district superintendent and principal

Third is pretty self explanatory

His cords signify: high volume blood donor, all state qualifier (clarinet trio and cross country), and academic honors. We couldn't be prouder of him as he begins his journey towards being a physical therapist.

51 wow. My graduating class in 1987 had 560. My son in 2012 was small by comparison at 160.
My daughter's High School class was 632. That's almost exactly double the size of my own graduating class, Millard, Nebraska, 1975. Of course, my mother's graduating class -- Sidney, Nebraska, 1951 -- was only 13 students.

In any case, you should be very proud, Bryan. Treasure every moment, because it really does fly by. Hard for me to believe that my daughter is going to be 37 in just a few months.

Congratulations to your son. I graduated in a class of 725, my granddaughter is only a junior, but there are 32 seniors graduating this year.
