I have a Smith Wesson Mp 2.0 10 mm does any body else have the issue of the first round jamming, but after the first round it shoots perfect afterward. It has happened to me 3 different times shooting it

Do you mean the first round is failing to feed properly? Did you try a different magazine to confirm it's a gun problem or a magazine problem?

It could be a bad magazine or a misadjusted extractor. Those are the first two things to come to mind.

I always like to polish the feed ramp, too.

Some pistols don't seem to need it. Some pistol benefit from it.

So far I haven't had any issues with the M&P 10MM I bought last month. Have fired about 500 rounds, half factory stuff and other half my reloads.

I used different mags, yes it was a hang up

Mine did that right out of the gate and I was only loading 10 rounds into a 15 round magazine. I'd manually load #1 then #2 would hang up.

Now I've put close to 100 rounds thru in now & it quit doing it. When it 1st jammed l just a hit the palm of my hand on the back of the slide, that chambered the stuck round. 41

Some semi-auto magazines don't like to be topped off to start off.

Put 1 round less than full advertised capacity into magazine, then chamber first round and see if the problem still occurs.

Yep, the mag is so tight that the first round is pushing up to hard.

I've had one for about a year and a half. Never had a feed problem. The only problem I've had is that the slide does not always lock back after last shot.

Groo here
Load your mags fully put in rang bag for at least a week [ a month would be better] then call us back.

Got one last week and have had no issues with 180 ball and 200 XTP/HP using its mag's as well as my 10MM FPC mag's.

I just purchased a M&P 10mm 5.6 barrel and have rounds that hang up, it seems like it's mostly the flat nose rounds. Never had an issue with hollow point. As @41special said, I can usually hit the slide with my palm and it loads. Not ideal and I'm hoping it will improve with time. I will continue to try different ammo.

I have the same pistol and so far have not had any malfunctions. The ammo I have used is 170 grain PPU and 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty. I will be trying the same PPU again and some 180 grain HP from AAC tomorrow. .

Tried with the AAC hollow points and had on failure to feed. I'll give the 22# recoil spring a try next time and see if it makes a difference. I also have the 24# on the way. May be a bit, they have to replace my spinal stimulator generator this week. I don't recall the recovery time from them putting in the last one, but I don't think it is long. They do have to move some muscle out of the way to get to the pocket it goes in.

As of right now with my Performance Center 10mm I'd carry the SIG Sauer 10mm FMJ 180 grainers up in the woods. Muzzle velocity is right at rated speed of 1250, and 100% reliable in mine. Hopefully they'll make long straight holes in big furry critters.

I've tested 12 different types of ammo and here's what I've found for my pistol. A very good learning exercise for me. A bit expensive trying multiple $35-40/boxes of 20.

CCI Blazer works well (No mis-feeds) for 180g/1175fps JHP (this will be my home defense ammo)
I tested the FMJ brass (180g/1200fps) and aluminum (200g/1050fps). No mis-feeds.

Range ammo (cheaper) that works well;

AAC 180g/1200fps FMJ
Armscor 180g/1008fps FMJ

For backcountry defense:

Federal P10SHC1 solid core, poly jacket (blue) 200g/1200fps, first choice, no issues
Federal Trophy medium game, JSP 180/1275fps.

Ammo that I won't use:
Backcountry Defense:
  • DoubleTap Hunter 230g/1125fps HardCast GasChecked. Too much lead fouling, smoky mess, good luck finding your target after your first shot. Also some mis-feeds.
  • Hornady BC Defense 200g/1160fps. First box had some mis-feeds. Second box, none.
  • Buffalo bore Outdoorsman 220g/1200 HardCast. 20 of 20 mis-feeds
Range
  • Federal Syntec Range 205g/?fps red jacket, some mis-feeds
  • Sellier & Bellot 180g/1165 FMJ, mis-feeds galore.
