Picked up a nice 629-1 3" Lew Horton(?) special order w/ box... the combat grips have fewer finger grooves than other's I've had. The high polish finish is different as well. Can someone can clue me in or direct me to a thread with the pertinent information? thanks. in advance.

That looks to be a nice example of product code 103610, a 3-inch 629-1. Search that code in the forum for more info.

The finish looks to be a bit shinier than factory, likely done aftermarket.

The grips appear to be factory, but sanded and refinished. Not everyone likes the fitment of the factory N Combat Grips, and these things happen…. ;)

One giveaway of the refinish is the darker medallion color, as it wasn’t masked off for the finish treatment and should appear more silver.

That makes sense... I'm still happy with my $1,200. investment. I had one thirty years ago and a friend talked me out of it... been looking for one ever since.
