Model 27-2

Hair Trigger

Mine like yours was shipped to Southern Police Equipment in Richmond, VA. I live just outside Richmond and purchased the gun in December 2024 from Greentop Sporting Goods. Per the salesman the gun was from a local collector that had just recently died. The gun came in the wooden case and had all the accessories with it. Definitely not shot much.
I bought mine at a local gun show in 2020. The box is in almost new condition but the liner is sort of worn and slightly grungy, but the revolver looks untouched and I don't think it had been fired since the factory. It's amazing to find two revolvers (yours and mine) so close to each other, the only other thing would be if they had sequential SN's. I've only fired mine about two cylinder loads. I also have a M28-2 that is my range toy.

I have another 27-2 w/6" barrel and nickel plated. The Letter shows a ship date of 12/4/80. I also have a 28-2 w/6" barrel that I bought in June of 1973. Not to mention, I have a 29-2 bought in May of 1975. I do like the N frame guns. May favorite is the 28. It is actually my second 28 purchased. The first one was stolen from my car while parked. N-frame with 6"+/- barrel are my way to go.

Have had a couple of 27s over the years and one pre-27, none in the collection currently though. Keep hoping to find a 3.5" but there is a supposedly LNIB 27-2 6" locally - presentation box and tools, etc - that keeps tempting me. Priced a bit high for me at $1450, but 27s all just seem to keep easing on up.
