We had several thunderstorms move through the area after dark this evening and they were putting on a pretty good light show. I went in and grabbed my camera and tripod to try and capture some lightning pictures. Instead, I accidentally caught a shooting star as it shot through the clouds while lightning was lighting up the horizon below.

USAF 6594th Test Group. They caught the film capsules from satellites back before digital imagery. One of the NCOs I worked with at my first assignment had been a crew chief in this unit. He had a lot of stories on how many of these captures went very wrong.
