Often times DA/SA revolvers have different safety internals compared to DAO revolvers. I'm really interested in how the safety mechanism works for the 632 and 432 ultimate carry revolvers. I have kids playing at my feet and that makes me overly cautious. I really want to understand how exactly it works. When I tried to look this up online I found conflicting answers, I asked Smith and Wesson directly and got a surprising answer from their customer service representative Nicole. I wonder if the service rep might be wrong, she said these models have a transfer bar... Online I found information saying they have a hammer block. I tried to find videos of people disassembling this model but all I could find was those type of videos for other models. Has anyone personally looked inside an ultimate carry 632/432 model? Does it have a transfer bar or a hammer block? If you have any knowledge about this I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks Beju! Ok so they don't have a hammer block and they also don't have a transfer bar, but there is no real way for the firing pin to get struck because the rebound slide keeps the hammer in place unless the trigger is pulled. I feel a little bit better, I think I am understanding how it works now.

Yeah, I wouldn't be worried about any sort of drop related discharge unless you drop it off a high-rise building.

FWIW, I like revolvers for carry around the house because my kids are less likely to get hurt running in to a rounded grip than the hard right angles of a semi-autos. Semi-autos are generally my EDC over revolvers because living in Chicago, multiple offender robberies/carjackings are a bit too common for me to justify only carrying 5 rounds of .38 Special.
