Went to a LGS today with a friend who was picking up a new Colt Kodiak which is an impressive revolver bye the way. While he was doing his paperwork I walked over to their S&W case and their was Lipseys new 632 UC. As some as I held it I decided to buy it. The action was smooth with that perfect S&W timing making it easy to stage the trigger. The sights are really good as are the VZ grips. Soon I'll see how it shoots. I really hope Smith brings out a version in 327 Magnum. Their old Model 632 with a 3" ported barrels was a great little revolver in a very versatile chambering. At least this Ultimate carry version didn't have the lock that nobody uses.

Congrats! Mine has been fun to shoot. However, I ran some doubletap h&r magnum Sunday and it was certainly a handful to me. It was a joy tho with s&w long and wadcutters

I really hope Smith brings out a version in 327 Magnum.

The issue with this was that the pressure of .327 Federal Magnum would require either a steel frame or a scandium frame. Steel wouldn't meet Lipsey's desired price point, and steel wouldn't meet their desired weight goal.

But, if some distributor(s) made a guaranteed 1,000+ order the way was done with the UC models, S&W would be more than happy to crank out a steel or scandium .327 Fed Mag J-frame.

327 Fed Mag

The only platform that S&W used in production for the 327 Federal Mag was the J frame. The round could not reach its full potential in the J frame guns!

The proper platform for the 327 Federal Mag should have been this gun, a 16-4. The gun pictured above is a tack driver at 100yds. Since that picture I have mounted a scope and the gun is now a better shooter than I am!

Got my S&W 632UC home this afternoon and being an old J frame lover I'm quite impressed with the fit and finish of this latest J frame. The biggest improvement are the sights followed by the excellent VZ grips. The front sight is much brighter in a dark room than I expected. And the action has that perfect S&W timing.
Compared to my Ruger LCR in 327 Magnum the Smith is a little smaller and not quite as tall. Compared to my Colt DS it is also slightly smaller. But the acid test will be how it performs at the range. Federal came out with a Punch round in 327 Magnum so I'm hoping they'll follow suite and do one in 32 H&R Magnum. I'll be posting a range report soon.
