625-6 MT Gun 45 ACP ? yes no maybe?

This one prefers lead full diam or coated bullets. The rifling seems slightly shallower than others. Nice shooting, but have shot the 3 incher more lately

Definitely yes!
I had a Springfield Commemorative when I was living in Fairbanks back around 1996 or so. It was the most accurate 45 I ever owned. I should have never traded it. 😕

I have a 625 PC (not a MG), which is arguably the most accurate revolver in my collection. The recoil is moderate, the PC action smooth, and .45ACP ammunition is remarkably consistent (short case, low air space, fast powder). The new 625 MG is tempting, but .357M is higher on the list.

You should buy that. I've got a 625-8 JM and a 325-NG. The 625-8 JM is just an amazingly accurate revolver. It gobbles up 255gr SWC's over Herco like candy.

One course of action, if you already have a 625 in .45 Colt, would be to locate a competent gunsmith and have him fabricate a conversion cylinder for .45 ACP. The cost would certainly be less than buying another revolver, and having a customized S&W has it's own 'cool' factor.

Yeah, here’s hoping you snagged that beauty. I had a .45 ACP MG and really should not have let it go. I shot and carried it extensively.

Summer Classic IWB from Barranti and Moon Pocket moon clip carriers from Jeffrey Gunleather. I used moon clips from Wilson Combat.

Good times.

I hear you on .45 Colt and .44 Magnum - I’m no expert on these guns, but those seem to be the most popular choices for the platform from that era.

That said, I’d love to have seen (or perhaps to see in the current generation of MGs) an 8-shot N-Frame offering in .357 Magnum.

I’m an admitted N-Frame .357 nerd; that probably explains it LOL…

Grabbing it tomorrow( gun jail tho) Sorry for the delay of a response . Lost my Sunday Gunday buddy on Tuesday morning. AKA my pops. I want to thank my buds on this site for the wonderful show and tells I had had with him. W4 and Stroker you provided excellent examples that he truly enjoyed. Thank you. Yep, will pick this one up, go through it as usual, and try somehow to fill that Sunday void if that’s even possible.

Like a few others, I'm holding out for Lipsey's to release the MG in 45 Long Colt. I'm already searching for some nice combats to put on it.

Well, in honor of my Dad I went bought it. We talked about it a few times before his passing. His thoughts were that you don’t see them often and since I have 1911’s that a .45 acp revolver would make for a nice range session with both. I figure it’s the last one we had talked about and at least he was involved in the decision.
It does come with a mim trigger and hammer so, maybe a ‘97 model I’m not sure. I still don’t see a lot of info on them.
I was able to get it for $1050 OTD. Now I need to get some moon clips
