The first original was marked "Mountain Revolver".
The first ones did not have any “mountain” markings to my knowledge. What marked them was the tapered barrel and the chamfered cylinder.

Or over Longshot.You should buy that. I've got a 625-8 JM and a 325-NG. The 625-8 JM is just an amazingly accurate revolver. It gobbles up 255gr SWC's over Herco like candy.

1996. By 1997 Smith started putting in cast hammers & triggers, instead of forged steel. Nice, huh?625-6 S.N. CDZ9766 any approximate date. I’m not used to the alpha #s . Believe me I’ve tried but I don’t see too much info on these. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
