Just picked up this 28-2 on GunBroker for about $670, and I’m in love. I’m not sure if the action has been worked on, but it’s incredibly smooth.

The original owner bought it—if I’m not mistaken—in 1967 and used it for security at his jewelry store in Florida. I even have the original receipt showing he paid $75 for it new.

The 4” N-frame just feels perfect in the hand. Now I’m on the lookout for a 4” Model 29.

Hopefully, I can take a buck with it this coming hunting season.

Want to get a good leather holster for it, any recommendations? Been looking at Barranti.

Great deal on a great gun. The personalized inscription typically detracts from the collectible value but I would be thrilled to own it at that price.

You did OK on price. Nice looker! I was looking for a 4" to go with my 6" no dash but it didn't work out. The only drawback is the initials probably don't match yours. Bob

Nice model 28. I've taken a few Deer with handguns from tree stands. For hunting I like the Bianchi Cyclone cross draw. Good protection from the weather and easy to draw from when sitting.

I got a 6" 28-2 off of GB for cheap and now I want a 4". Congrats on a great deal!

Very nice gun, and you can't go wrong with Barranti. I personally prefer the Hank Sloan model for 4" N frames.

I was looking at the Hank Sloan or the Keith/Gaylord one. The Hank Sloan has retention adjustment right?

I agree with the comments on the personalized engraving… usually, a big negative, in this case cool provenance that ties the gun inextricably to the man, his jewelry business, and a time and place.
I would have ripped my pocket yanking my wallet out, too.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
