I could be gold plated, and I wouldn't pay that for it. Yeah; I'm no expert, but that's way too high a price to pay.
According to SWCA 5th Edition the 2.5" commands a 25% premium over standard values, but ANIB is 1200. So unless there's something else REALLY unique about it....no.

It looks very nice and all, but it's still madly overpriced. At least twice over. I don't want to be that person, but...New York isn't that 'special' as far as I'm concerned, and that's what this seller is pretending to be.

Do not pay that for it for another 40 years. There are a bunch on GB right now. Keep an eye on them and you’ll know generally people are paying for any given model.

The seller is what I call a "look what I got seller" Usually a Fudd or group of Fudds displays at a show or carries in a desirable, rare, high condition gun(s) with ridiculous prices. It's a social event for them. The guns really aren't for sale but if someone met their sky high price they would part with it. Nothing wrong with that I've gone to shows primarily just to see old friends. But the gun there for bragging rights not for sale.

Look hard enough and you can find pretty much whatever you seek.

Maybe the price isn't awful, I paid almost that much for this -4 a few years ago, and it is scratched up some.
I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous asking price! I picked up my minty nickel 2-1/2" Model 19-4 (1979) about 10 years ago for $550 (no box or papers). I wouldn't sell it now for less than $1500, but $3500 is crazy!
There was ( maybe still is) a nickel snubbie m66 on the Georgia Outdoors Trader recently, only an hour north of me, for around $700, and that got reposted at least a few times.
Even if the 66 in the OPs post was LNIB, its at least 2 grand overvalued IMHO.

Hard Pass! For that you could buy a REALLY NICE Triple Lock! I got a 19-3 with everything including the original price tag for $1,150 last year on GB.

3500 American??? I was thinking maybe a typo. Probably one of those situations where his wife said he had to sell it and he didn't want to so he put a price nobody would pay on it.

Model 66 nickel doesn't exist they are stainless.
A model 19 nickel 2 1/2" are prized to some.
But not that much.
As I always say though, you can go down on your price not up.
I sold my 2 1/2" nickel 19-5 to a friend two weeks ago. $950. It was a real nice one. No box. But that was a -5 and not a -4, P&R..

Just yesterday I was offered a 19-4 nickle 2 1/2 inch.P&R .He wants 825...stuck on that figure too...no box but really nice...I'm not enamored with snubs though...I recently got a 19-3 4 inch ...box and docs maybe anti rust paper cleaning rod brush...swab (used)and SAT...the manual is for a 66 not a 19...Original owner...never shot..Not holding my breath but he said he has the original receipt...another odd thing on this one is the label on the end of the box is upside down serial 2K985XX

If you mean "upside down" with the top on the box when you look at it, that was "right side up" from the factory's perspective. That way when they're stacked up an employee could pull one off the stack, read the label, and not drop the gun out of the box when they slid it off the stack.
